72-K Soviet 25-mm AA Gun (late)
25-mm anti-aircraft automatic gun 72-K was designed in 1939 in Sverdlovsk in Design Department of Machine-Building Plant named after Kalinin. In 1940 the gun was tested and accepted by the Red Army. The gun was issued from 1941 to 1945. There were 4560 guns produced. In order to protect the crew and the gun while fighting with ground targets the armor shield appeared in 1943.
