Heavy self-propelled artillery gun KV-7 was based on serial heavy tank KV-1. It was issued in April 1942 and was a 2-barrel version of KV-6 SPG. The main armament consisted of two 76-mm guns ZIS-5. Additional weapons were the two DT machine guns. Because the caliber of guns in the 76 mm was not enough to combat the new German heavy tanks, KV-7 SPG did not have mass production.
